Abstract (en)

Three Anglo-Saxon inscribed sheaths are discussed in detail, and compared with other contemporary sheaths for small angle-backed weapons. An appendix lists all known examples which were mostly found in Anglo-Saxon England, largely in areas of Viking influence.
