Abstract (en)

Reports on the restoration (in progress, 1994) of the Palazzo ducale, Sassuolo, in which traces of 18th c. paint on the facade were used as the basis for the repainting. Also discusses the restoration of the grand staircase (architect: Bartolomeo Avanzini) with mural painting by Colonna and Mitelli.
