- Describes the reactions of Danish artists to the exhibition in Feb 1938 of Picasso's Guernica (Madrid, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte de Reina Sofia) at the Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen. Discusses the influence of the picture upon: Linien (The Line Group) 1938-1939; Richard Mortensen's mother and child motifs during the German occupation of Denmark 1940-1945; the cultural periodical Helhesten (The Whole Horse) 1942-1945; and Asger Jorn's use of the horse motif during the German occupation and World War II.
