Discusses the influence of the picture upon: Linien (The Line Group) 1938-1939; Richard Mortensen's mother and child motifs during the German occupation of Denmark 1940-1945; the cultural periodical Helhesten (The Whole Horse) 1942-1945; and Asger Jorn's use of the horse motif during the German occupation and World War II.
