As a sequel to the author's article on an 18th c. painting, The Ministry of S. Joseph, in the Museo Nacional de Arte, Mexico City (Memoria - Museo Nacional de Arte, 1989, no 1 (autumn-winter), p. 4-33), reports the discovery of portraits of two of the donors (Oratorian fathers Juan José González and José de Gómez), as well as a painting by José de Alzíbar, S. Joseph as Patron of the Oratory in Mexico, 1767, in the Pinacoteca de la Profesa, Mexico City. Surveys Alzíbar's works for the Oratorians, and argues that the painting in the Museo Nacional is one of these. Suggests a date 1771-1776 for the commission and proposes a relationship to the transfer of the Casa Profesa to the Oratorians by Carlos III.
