Observes that Leonardo was famous as a physiognomist in the 16th and 17th cs.; and examines evidence from his notes that reveal his conception of a didactic discussion of the bodily expression of emotions, as well as his plan to discuss systematically the variety of facial and bodily expressions due to emotions.
