Abstract (en)

Discusses the Rime of Bernardo Bellincioni, published in Milan in 1493, which contains the first reference to Leonardo in print and provided the basis for the interpretation of the Lady with the Ermine (Cracow, Czartoryski collection) as a political allegory of Ludovico il Moro. Publishes facsimiles of pages from the Rime and an article by Pedretti on Bellincioni's poem, Sopra il ritratto di Madonna Cecilia qual fece Leonardo, and on the portrait of Cecilia Gallerani as the lady with the ermine.
