Discusses, among Poppi's early works, a group of small pictures executed 1568-1569 for the lunettes of the ciborium of S. Croce (Florence) and examines the role of Dionigi di Matteo Nigetti in the wooden structure of the ciborium. Also discusses Poppi's works in the studiolo of Francesco I in Palazzo Vecchio (Florence) and attributes to him a Madonna and Child in the Galleria Corsini, Florence, traditionally given to Pontormo.
