Study of two Portuguese painters active in Tuscany in the 15th c.: Álvaro Pires of Évora and João Gonçalves; notes that the former is known only for panel painting and the latter for frescoes of the Life of S. Benedict in the Chiostro degli Aranci of the Badia of Florence. Examines the question of their relationship to Portuguese art.
