Narrates the debate on how to treat damaged Wren churches, during the 1940s and 1950s. Many of these churches were ruined during the Victorian period; others sustained severe damage from German bomb attacks during World War II. A range of solutions were presented, from complete reconstruction to total demolition. Presents four case studies of restored London churches: S. Bride's, Fleet Street; S. Mary-le-Bow, Cheapside; S. Lawrence Jewry, Gresham Street; and S. Vedast, Foster Lane.
