Abstract (en)

Relates the history of the railroad line, which was largely completed by 1836. One of the main promoters of the line, George Walter, was forced to resign in 1837 when the company experienced financial difficulties, but was honored with a commemorative medal in the following year engraved by J. Barber, which has a portrait of him on the obverse, and a view of the railway's viaduct on the reverse. Also presents some of the official passes and tickets produced by the company.
