Examines the current wave of interest in avant-garde furniture designs of the 1920s, in particular by such artists as Breuer, Stam and Mies van der Rohe. Focuses on chair designs and the status of the modern chair as a symbol of prestige. Many of the works under discussion come from the collection of the Vitra-Design-Museum, Weil am Rhein.
