Abstract (en)

Studies the iconography of Solimena's 1704-1708 painting (Rochester, Memorial Art Gallery), in comparison with other versions by the artist, and compares his style with that of earlier Neopolitan painters such as Luca Giordano and Mattia Preti. Provides a report on the technique, condition and conservation of the painting.
