Abstract (en)
Traditionally circumscribed meanings notwithstanding, the beholder's eye finds many connotations in a work of art. An array of perceptions and responses to an ideogrammic design (in this case the author's poster design I.R.I.S., 1991) are listed, illustrating the proliferation (and constancy) of meanings possible in a simple yet highly overdetermined image.
