Shows that the angel in the upper half of Dujardin's painting Hagar and Ishmael in the Wilderness (Sarasota, Ringling Museum of Art) is based on an etching by De Bisschop of an angel, published in 1671, after a drawing by Giuseppe Cesari, or on the original drawing itself (which at the time was in the collection of Jan Six). A date of 1662-1665 for the painting has recently been proposed, but if the work in fact copies De Bisschop's print, then the painting must be dated between 1671 and 1675 instead.
