Discusses a group of four skillfully executed diamond-engraved glasses signed "J. Wolff" and bearing dates which range 1624-1709. Although the glass vessels themselves actually date 17th to early 18th c., it is here argued that the engraved decoration was done by Andries Melort in the 19th c. It is unclear whether the false signatures and dates were Melort's work or were added later. The engraved decorations are all meticulous copies of 17th c. Dutch prints.
