Compares the nearly identical facades of an early 18th c. town house in Trowbridge (Lloyds Bank since 1866) and the east front of Dyrham Park, Gloucestershire, begun in 1700 to a design supplied by Talman in 1695. Suggests that the Trowbridge house might be the work of a local mason copying an engraving of Dyrham Park in the 1717 Vitruvius Britannicus. This is questioned however, owing to the logic and consistency of the the Trowbridge facade.
