Calls attention to the dearth of American 19th and early-20th c. painting in British collections. Suggests that a gallery in Britain devoted to these works is a worthy idea; and proposes exhibitions of such American artists as William Merritt Chase, George Bellows, Frederic Edwin Church and Winslow Homer.
