Book fully transcribes the three Bedford inventories and provides cross references, textual notes and detailed commentary. When he died in 1435, John of Lancaster, Duke of Bedford, left immense possessions on both sides of the Channel. As Regent of France he had been able to make extensive acquisitions from the French Royal collections. Book includes sections on goldsmiths' work, textiles, clocks and miscellanea, and manuscripts.
