Abstract
(en)
Considers the iconography and sources of the frescoes in the Sala degli Argenti, Pitti Palace, Florence which represent a pictorial tribute to Florentine Neoplatonism of the 15th c. and glorifies the age of Lorenzo the Magnificent as an idyllic era of cultural renewal. Francesco Furini's pictures completed the scheme of decoration begun in 1635 by Giovanni Mannozzi, with other frescoes by Cecco Bravo and Ottavio Vannini.
