Abstract (en)

An analysis and comparison of the Romanesque and non-Romanesque (earlier and later) building phases of the cathedrals of Modena and Parma, both consecrated in 1106. Observes that while in the Modena cathedral the earlier architecture was demolished to create the early 12th c. building, in the Parma cathedral it was incorporated.
