Introductory essays on Lombard metalwork and Early Medieval metalwork from the Crypta Balbi, Rome, and catalogue entries for recently restored (1987-1993) Lombard objects, 6th-7th cs., from tomb sites at Nocera Umbra and Castel Trosino, now in the Museo dell'Alto Medioevo, Rome. The Lombard objects include six metal folding chair frames from Nocera Umbra, and glass and ceramics vessels.
