An initiative of the Hague branch of Society for Elective Cremation for a competition for a crematorium in August 1941 was not favorably received by the Society's Eexcutive, for it was regarded an interference in the Society's general policy. In 1940 the Society had asked Dudok to submit designs for a new crematorium in Zwolle, the second in the country. The project came to nothing.
