Responds to a series of papers on issues of international avant-garde art in Berlin after World War I. Comments on the place of Berlin as a cultural as well as political capital; the growing importance of internationalism in art in Berln; the isolation of the Berlin avant-garde by the war, and the politicization of it in the aftermath, in particular through interactions with Soviet art; Dada art in Berlin; and the Hungarian avant-garde active in Berlin.
