Abstract (en)
Study of the cultural policy of Ludwig Roselius, president of Kaffee HAG, as expressed in architectural projects, advertising, publications, and socioeconomic theory. Focuses on his collaboration with the architect Bernhard Hoetger on the following projects: the neo-vernacular remodeling of Böttcherstrasse in Bremen (location of the corporate headquarters of Kaffee HAG), including the Paula Modersohn-Becker house and adjacent cafes and crafts workshops (1927) and the House of Atlantis (1931); the HAG Tower at Pressa (international exhibition of printed media) in Cologne, 1928; and the art journal, Internationale Zeitschrift Die Böttcherstrasse, which linked advertising and cultural propaganda.
