Suggests that the reviewer of the author's book, Vitruvius Proportionsfigur (Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians, 1993, 52, no 3 (Sept), p. 359-360), ignored important evidence from ancient and Renaissance sources that would have answered some of his objections to the author's argument. Draws attention to errors and simplifications in Wittkower's view.
