- Hybrid publication between an artist's book and a reference volume that serves as the catalogue for the exhibition Kim Abeles: encyclopedia persona. The primary aims of the book are to fully illustrate Abeles's artistic production 1979-1993; to provide an historical context for her work; and to chronicle her life as an artist, educator and activist in California. A complete document of the exhibition indexes the artist's 12 series (objects and installations) and includes her research on a broad range of subjects. Publication is modeled directly after an early 1960s edition of the World book encyclopedia.
