Abstract (en)

Exhibition (through 4 Sept 1994) in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Kress Foundation; reconstructs a dismembered altarpiece by Taddeo di Bartolo by assembling five panels given by the Foundation to various museums: Bishop Saint and S. Catherine, ca.1403 (New Orleans Museum of Art); S. John the Baptist and S. James Major, ca.1410 (Memphis, Brooks Museum); and Madonna and Child, ca.1410 (Tulsa, Philbrook Art Center); notes that some art historians propose a Madonna and Child in the Fogg Museum, Cambridge, as the central panel of the polyptych.
