Study of the life and artistic patronage of Jacques Coeur, the argentier and confidant of Charles VII, and of his house in Bourges, from its foundation in 1443 to restorations carried out before World War II. The reviewer raises numerous questions that the book fails to address, and faults it for lack of footnotes and index.
