Abstract (en)
Presents evidence--both historical and technical--which suggests that the so-called Constantine Bowl in the British Museum (London) is a genuine Late Byzantine product, rather than a 19th c. forgery as has often been supposed. Argues that the clear-glazed pottery vessel might have been a diplomatic gift between the Eastern and Western churches.
