Study of the planning and urban development of Mexico City, 1522-1562; provides accounts of the roles of the principal figures and authorities involved: the planner Alonso García Bravo, Hernán Cortés, the Cabildo, the viceroy Antonio de Mendoza, and the architect Claudio de Arciniega (author of the cathedral and the Casas Reales); and includes transcriptions of documents, 1525-1589.
