Philosophical reflections on how objects function aesthetically, socially, and experientially, occasioned by a recent exhibition entitled What, if anything, is an object?, held at the Fogg Museum of Art, Harvard University, Cambridge (29 Jan-17 July 1994). The exhibition displayed a combination of art and archaeological objects, as well as decorative pieces and tools.
