Exhibition of paintings and drawings, mostly German, some Swiss and Austrian, ca.1770-1920; also two sculptures by J.H. Dannecker. Works are grouped in the following sections: Neo-classicism; Romanticism; Biedermeier; Idealism; early Realism, landscape, and the Leibl circle; and German Impressionism and the art of the Secessions. Catalogue contains an essay on German Romanticism followed by commentaries on individual artists interspersed with plates.
