Examines the Orvieto Cathedral frescoes which had been begun by Fra Angelico in 1447 and were completed by Signorelli at the turn of the century. The book focuses on Signorelli's Rule of Antichrist (1499-1504), and argues it is indicative of widespread apocalyptic concerns.
