Biography of Greek collector George Costakis who, for nearly 30 years, was an administrative clerk in the Canadian embassy in Moscow. Until his forced departure from Russia in 1978, Costakis collected, continually and painstakingly, the abstract, constructivist and suprematist art of 1912-1930 which fell into official disrepute under Stalin. This text has been written utilizing Costakis's own comments, excerpted from hours of taped interviews with the author.
