Sorkin's book offers essays about the emerging conditions of the modern city, focusing on the United States, but also extending to other countries. Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk includes five essays which are presentations of 13 projects for American towns by the firm DPZ. Seaside discusses the project of that name by the firm DPZ.
