Rescue excavations were carried out on part of an early medieval inhumation cemetery. Radiocarbon dating placed the majority of the burials in the 6th or 7th cs. Discusses the cemetery in detail and places it in the historical context of Dark Age Caerwent. A summary of the Roman and post-medieval findings of the excavations is also included.
