Abstract (en)
Queries a style-based art history noting that it is rooted in Schopenhauer's idiosyncratic interpretation of Platonic ideas, as elaborated by Wilhelm Worringer in Abstraction and empathy (1908). Argues a new interpretation of style in medieval art should perhaps be based on Aristotelian instead of Platonic models.
