Abstract (en)

Observation of design and construction details allows the author to identify a large group of furniture from a now anonymous Boston cabinet shop which flourished 1735-1755. These pieces provide compelling evidence of a differentiated designer/tradesman relationship and a level of specialization that was comparable with urban British practice.
