Reflects on characteristics of the history of art in Argentina; notes that while the principal sources for art history are books, traditionally foreign, the history of art in Argentina has not been written either in books or in specialized periodicals; in other words, it has appeared in "low" rather than "high" publications. Observes that this situation is not without advantages.
