Provides an historical overview of the Byzantines in Puglia, 6th-16th cs., with a focus on Mesagne. Looks at the Orthodox rite and saints' cults, 6th-18th cs. Includes a catalogue of architecture and archaeological finds, and a catalogue of ca.35 churches in Mesagne and environs.
