The work reviewed catalogues statues of the Madonna (Venice, public and private collections) dressed in handcrafted clothing and venerated in Venice and environs, 14th-19th cs. The accompanying essays discuss the history of this cult, and analyze the style and workmanship of the Madonna's clothing.
