Abstract (en)

Surveys the history and iconography and analyzes the design of the four fountains at the Piazza Quattro Fontane, Rome, commissioned by Pope Sixtus V. Suggests, from a study of the fountain basins, that Domenico Fontana had a significant influence on the project.
