Abstract (en)

Surveys the state of research into late gothic and renaissance sculpture (mainly 15th-16th c.) in the present Netherlands. The material covered comprises general surveys; studies of particular regions; of church furnishings; of architectural sculpture, ecclesiastical and secular; of the art market; of patronage; and the problem of Dutch artists abroad. Concludes with suggestions for further research.
