Hannula's article on art as experience takes John Dewey's ideas as a starting point and proceeds to discuss the role and the power of the individual. The emphasis on individual experience offers means to leave behind the artificial juxtaposition of modern and postmodern: a presupposed difference between good and bad, high and low, art remains an institutional definition that should be got rid of. The golden keys of definition and decision are handed over to the public.
