Abstract (en)

Charleston, SC, offers a wealth of documentation concerning shipping and trade in woods. Investigation of this documentary evidence reveals a great range of woods, both native and imported, that were used for a wide variety of trades and levels of consumption, e.g., cabinetmakers, joiners, turners, carvers, builders and shipwrights.
