Catalogue for an exhibition documenting the 1993 Full Deck project. Fifty-four American artists/teams of artists were invited to create a quilt interpretation of a playing card in the American deck. Each of the 54 quilts is here reproduced in color, accompanied by an essay on the philosophy and approach of the artist. In three introductory chapters, the authors discuss art quilts, the Full Deck project, and the creative process and techniques employed.
