Abstract (en)

Corrects the date of 1710 given by Grant O'Brien (Journal - Galpin Society, 1994, 47, p. 2ff) for the Tisseran harpsichord in the Bate Collection at Oxford University, Oxford; reports that the original inscription bears the date 1700 and that it was altered, presumably in connection with the sale of the instrument in 1712.
