Abstract (en)

In planning the 1994 exhibition of its collection of Baltimore pictorial album quilts (ca.1844-1855), the Maryland Historical Society gathered a diverse group of scholars to research these extraordinary textiles. This paper delineates the methodology of the study, the contributions of participants, and the most important findings and conclusions.
