Discusses the 17th c. collections of Dulwich College, London: the foundation collection of Edward Alleyn and that of William Cartwright, the former on exhibit at the Dulwich Picture Gallery (1994-1995) and the subject of a volume of essays and a catalogue; the latter the subject of an exhibition held 1987-1988; both offer insight into the collection and ownership of pictures in London in the 17th c.
