Reconsiders current impasses in postmodern theories of art and the nature of reality in light of Michelangelo's statement that among men there exists a single art or science, which is drawing or painting, and that everyone, without knowing it, is painting the world, and Calvino's comment that this suggests a new anthropology, whereby every activity and production of man counts as visual communication.
